Brief The West London Hotel is part of a corporate chain, and is a modern purpose built hotel with 150 rooms, situated near High Street Kensington. It was built in the 1970's and traditionally serves the short?term visitor to London, particularly international business travellers and tourists. Within recent years there has been an increase in the number of small 'boutique' style luxury hotels. The Management would like to make The West London Hotel more appealing, individual and personalised, so that they can compete with these hotels. They are therefore proposing to redecorate the main public areas and bedrooms. Although the budget is limited, they are looking for your ideas for an exciting and innovative concept and design, which gives the Hotel real impact and individuality. With the redecoration in mind, there is scope for the Hotel to be renamed and rebranded. Main Entrance & Lobby The entrance is a crucial area as it should set the tone for the whole building and should be smart, high impact and welcoming. It needs to accommodate a busy reception desk with up to 3 staff, a safe deposit area, a left luggage area and a desk for the concierge and a boutique for flowers. The lifts are likely to be adjacent to this area and highly visible, so particular care should be taken to incorporate these into the overall scheme. Lounge This is where guests relax and should be an attractive space where morning coffee or afternoon teas will be served. The Lounge will also double as a waiting and reading area, and should seat up to 30 people at a time. Bedroom & En Suite Bathroom The Management would like a sample design for a bedroom, which can be replicated throughout the hotel with simple adjustments. The bedrooms are not that generous, so they need to be creatively planned to feel light and spacious. use the menu bar above to
